Winter Sports
The deadline for registering for Winter Sports 2024 I Friday, November 8th, 2024! Winter sports are basketball, cheer, and wrestling. Please visit the nurse’s page to access the forms required. Forms can be turned in to the Nurse's Office or emailed to sportsforms@readington,k12.nj.us. The first day for tryouts will be Thursday, November 21st, 2024 and will end on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Governor’s Educator of the Year Nomination Process
Readington Township School District participates in the New Jersey Department of Education Governor's Educator of the Year Program each year. This program recognizes excellence in education, a direct result of the hard work of our outstanding classroom teachers and educational service professionals. One of the most meaningful gestures to show appreciation to our educators would be to nominate them for the Governor's Educator of the Year recognition. The Academies* (Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science & Applied Engineering, & Environmental Sustainability & Applied Engineering) are rigorous programs with competitive admissions offering opportunities to earn multiple college credits. There will be 4 information sessions regarding information about the Academies. Students and families interested in learning more about the different programs offered should attend one of the following information sessions. The dates & locations are as follows:

The PolyTech programs** (Animal Science, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Welding Technology, Advanced Manufacturing & Aeronautical Sciences, Diesel & Power Sports Technology, & Electrical Technology) are highly focused programs offering industry certifications or college credits to ensure students are workforce or college-ready. Students interested in one of the PolyTech Programs should attend the PolyTech Open House on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 6pm located at the current PolyTech building (10 Junction Rd. Flemington, NJ 08822). Registration is not required for this event. If you're unable to attend the Open House on 10/17, there will be another PolyTech Open House on December 3 at 6pm located at the current PolyTech Building (10 Junction Rd. Flemington, NJ). Registration is not required for this event.
Information sessions and/or Open Houses is not a requirement in order to apply or be accepted into a program, but it is strongly encouraged. Save the date- November 20. Join us for a traditional holiday cookie exchange and HSA parent social. Gather your best holiday cookie recipes, mix up some cookies, bake them up and get ready to mix, mingle and brainstorm ideas for HSA spring events. Come with at-least 4 dozen cookies (preferably baked but store-bought is ok too). We will be encouraging new friendships and new ideas among good company while discussing ideas and gathering helpers for our Spring Social and the Elementary School Field Days.

6th Grade Student Presentation - Don't Get Vaped on 10/23 and 10/24
Attention 6th Grade Families: RMS is pleased to bring back NJ Prevention Resources's "Don't Get Vaped" presentation for all 6th grade students during their Science classes on 10/23 or 10/24. Below is an overview of the presentation:
Don’t get vaped is a program designed to teach the dangers of vaping, the risk of addiction while also teaching about the power of advertising from tobacco/vape companies. We discuss why teens vape, the role of the internet and social media, as well as peer pressure. We look at the physical and mental health impacts of vaping. Vaping marijuana is included in this program. We also discuss how to quit and the resources that are available. Please see links below for more information.

The RMS Halloween Costume Bash will be held on Friday, October 25th, from 6:00pm–8:00pm. There will be Prizes, Games, Costumes, Group Costumes, Pizza, a DJ and lots of Fun. Cell phones will be collected at the door and returned before the end of the dance to ensure maximum positive student interaction! Please see attached permission slip which must be returned to the main office by October 24! TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR!

Honor your incoming grader with a book donated to the RMS Library Media Center in their name. We'll include a nameplate on the inside cover of the book proclaiming "I was here first!" School bus drivers are eligible for health and dental benefits, a pension or 403b with match, and the district has a CDL training program for those without licenses. Pay is up to $33/hour. Preschool bus aides can earn a stipend up to $4,525 for 1 hour of work per day for the school year. Interested persons can apply online or contact Jason M. Readington Township School District participates in the New Jersey Department of Education Governor's Educator of the Year Program each year. This program recognizes excellence in education, a direct result of the hard work of our outstanding classroom teachers and educational service professionals. One of the most meaningful gestures to show appreciation to our educators would be to nominate them for the Governor's Educator of the Year recognition. Hunterdon County Vocational School District invites middle school students and their families to attend an information session to learn more about full-time Career & Technical Education programs for high school. 8th grade students are eligible to apply for the 2025-2026 school year now through December 15th.
The Academies* (Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science & Applied Engineering, & Environmental Sustainability & Applied Engineering) are rigorous programs with competitive admissions offering opportunities to earn multiple college credits. There will be 4 information sessions regarding information about The Academies. Students and families interested in learning more about the different programs offered should attend one of the following information sessions. The dates & locations are as follows:

The PolyTech programs** (Animal Science, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Welding Technology, Advanced Manufacturing & Aeronautical Sciences, Diesel & Power Sports Technology, & Electrical Technology) are highly focused programs offering industry certifications or college credits to ensure students are workforce or college-ready. Students interested in one of the PolyTech Programs should attend the PolyTech Open House on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 6pm located at the current PolyTech building (10 Junction Rd. Flemington, NJ 08822). Registration is not required for this event.
If you're unable to attend the Open House on 10/17, there will be another PolyTech Open House on December 3 at 6pm located at the current PolyTech Building (10 Junction Rd. Flemington, NJ). Registration is not required for this event.
Information sessions and/or Open Houses is not a requirement in order to apply or be accepted into a program, but it is strongly encouraged.
